After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1954, Louis Weisdorf worked with everything from graphic to interior to industrial design. In the late 1960s, he opened his own studio in Copenhagen, sharing it with architect Ole Panton (younger brother of Verner Panton), where he served both national and international clients. During his career, he worked closely with many designers, including Verner Panton and Poul Henningsen. Weisdorf has always been interested in creating lights that shield the eye from direct glare at all angles, as evidenced by his ingenious Multi-Lite (1972). This clever floor lamp features two mobile shades that can be rotated to change not only the direction of light but also the lamp’s profile. Bulb (not included): incandescent, CFL or LED; E26 base; 60W max. UL Listed. Made in China.
